When I first started my job search, I got interviews for 25% of the jobs I applied for from 8/1-8/20! Got to the final rounds for 3 jobs but didn't land them.

Since then zero interviews! Over two months of not a single interview, its really discouraging. Man I thought it was difficult back then, I had no idea it was going to get this bad! And for all we know, it could get even worse from here.

Anyone have any ideas on other career paths outside of accounting where being a cpa with public accounting experience would be an asset? I've honestly thought of trying to get into high end real estate or selling high end cars. I may even try opening up my own small practice. I really cant think of anything else.

you got to the final rounds of interviews?  How many interview rounds is typical? 2 or 3?

Are u applying in corporate? or still in CPA firms?

By the way, how many years of experience do u have?

Typically its 3 rounds. First a phone interview, then they have interviews in person. If they like you enough they bring you back for the second round of in person interviews.

I am applying for anything, although I really want to work in government.

I have 3-5 years of experience, I would rather not give out the exact number on the internet.

I had 3 second round in person interviews so far (2 last week and 1 yesterday).  But still no offer.  Should I be expecting anytime soon from these 3 companies?

It all depends on the company. Its hard to say.
