Hello Everyone,
I work for Bank of America was offered an internal transfer as Senior Compliance Specialist . The base salary offered was a non-negotiable $72k . However, the median base salary indicated in salary.com for the same position (and same location, Los Angeles, CA) is $75k. So I contacted HR with the salary.com results and countered the offer by asking for a base salary between $75-$80k.
HR contacted me with another salary offer (still for the same position) for $73,500, plus a title promotion as an Assistant Vice President. I thought the Sr. position was underpaid and think the AVP position is even waaaay more underpaid.
Here's the dilemma: I do not like my current job anymore, but I think the potential new job is way underpaid. Also, it has taken several weeks to negotiate the $73,500 and I am concerned about burning bridges if i negotiate with HR and my potential new group one more time.
Is re-negotiating a second time too much or should I just decline/accept the position? I would've not written this message if i had a clear final decision made. However, my tendency is to decline as I feel B of A's HR department does not pay in accordance to market but by previous salary.
I would sincerely appreciate any feedback or advise to assist on my final decision.
Thanks and best regards,
