I graduated with my B.S. in accounting from an AACSB school, Summa
Cum Laude, in May. I did an internship with a fortune 100 company over
the summer and have an opportunity to go back and work for them but
want to pursue public accounting.

I am currently enrolled in my schools M.Acc program and am only taking
12 credits. (Because I have several leadership positions that I am involved
with as well.) As it stands right now, it is unlikely that I will be able to get
this program done by May of next year. However, it is a possibility. My
question is what do I tell public accounting recruiters? Is it going to hurt
me if I pursue an internship for the summer, and finish both my M.Acc
and CPA by December of 2013? Do firms (large) hire associates for busy
season? Or is it the norm to just hire new associates for the fall?

I would really appreciate some advice on how to go about recruiting. I will
have 150 credits by May regardless of whether i complete it by then or
not.
