I successfully passed the CPA exam. Now I'm looking for employment.

I'm wondering how difficult would it be to land a entry-level staff position at a
big four firm. I have no work experience as an accountant.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Hey UCLA. I am only 22 and am still looking for many
answers (see my thread). Still in my undergrad. However I
have gotten the opportunity to learn a few things about
the field and thought Id share.

I am starting an internship at a top 5 firm, and here is
what I've learned.

- The big 4 hire most of their people from their intern
pools. They start looking past that when they cant find
the talent they need.

- Most firms dont want to hire a full timer who has no
accounting experience, unless you can show them that you
are capable.

Are you going into tax or audit? If you are going into
audit, the experience may be less important, since it is
hard to get audit experience without being at a big firm.
If you are going into tax, and can prove to them that you
are capable of handling the load, are comfortable around
tax forms, and can shine... they will want you.

I think your best bet is to go out and start applying...
and see what happens. Education wise you are qualified.

My experience is very limited, but this is what I have
learned from the very people you seek a job with.

Best of luck.
