Becker answer in text explains accrued bonus is deductible in the year declared because it's paid within 2 1/2 month in the following year.

but Tim explains that it's deductible it's because it's paid by March 15.

so shouldn't it be that it's deductible because it's paid within 3 1/2 month in the following year?

2 1/2 months from December 31 would be March 15 which happens to be the Form 1120 deadline for C Corps. The concept is that you can deduct it on the 1120 if you paid it by the time you files the form.
