Hello everyone,

Can anyone gulde me as to what all is required to do REG preparation. I am reading becker notes. And will try to solve the CD as well. I have becker 2011 book. Is it good enough for 2012 exams or should I buy new course again? Or where can i get the updates for Tax portion for 2012 vs 2011? If I dont get Becker CD, solving just the question from Wiley would help?

Anuradha,

I believe that taking the exam in early 2012 (first testing window) should be fine if you have the 2011 materials. As for Becker, I found the CD to be extremely helpful, along with the passmaster software. I'm sure that you can get by without it, but you need to do substantial work in Wiley to get a feel for the questions. I'm not sure about updates, but then again, I don't think that you need them.

One of my friends just took REG 2 days ago with CPAExcel and Wiley questions. He said that the Wiley questions were much harder than what the exam was like so if you can do them, you should be good to go. Hope this helps!

The review courses lease the questions they use from the AICPA. I borrowed the 2011 Wiley book from a friend and some of the Becker questions are on Wiley. I also agree, Becker questions are much harder, as they should be. Best way to prepare for these exams is to over prepare. Just sayin...

Entourage - Do you still have the Becker CD and Passmaster software? And if yes is it possible for you to share with me? I have asked couple of other friends too...but haven't heard from them. Can you help with the same?

I still have it but unfortunately I've already used it on the maximum amount of computers, sorry!
