Stay away...it's not his strong area. He's good for audit
though!

Well, I wasn't really that pleased with Yaeger either. I had to invest in the Gleim book and use that along with Yaeger in order to finally pass REG.

I guess with the new format, many review courses are having difficulty with this section. REG has become A LOT more detailed since the format changed in 2011 and the Sims have become a lot harder and they count more towards your score, so I guess these review courses need a few years to adjust. I'm sure as they get more feedback from students, they'll improve.

I know, I don't want to be a Bitter-Bob because Yaeger
has been really attentive in terms of contacting me and
trying to give me pep-talks, which is nice, but I really
need study technique and I just feel like I'm fumbling
through this process on this section. Now that it's
post-4/15 I've got all the unlicensed tax professionals
plus the international candidates to compete with so kind
of knowing the material isn't going to fly. All I can do
is keep ferreting out things I'm not realizing that I
don't understand, keep drilling the concepts in my head
by taking notes, and keep working questions...what more
could anyone do? Believe me when I say I'VE STUDIED for
this. I keep checking these boards to learn from other
people's mistakes or what went well but at the end of the
day it seems like it's just going to boil down to what
works for me, wherever that technique is...uncertainty at
best.

I know what you mean. I admit that I failed FAR and AUD because I didn't study well and was lazy, but with REG, I've studied extremely hard since day 1 (over 300 hours) and still ended up failing with a 64. I put in more hours of studying and still failed again with a 74. I decided to start from scratch and try to study and remember everything to the best of my ability. I put in another 200 hours and finally passed with an 84 on my third attempt. REG was the most frustrating exam to get through, so I feel your pain. But trust me, you will get through it. Just keep studying and you will pass eventually.
