Can anybody help me to clarify the problem I have?

I am using Becker material and trying to understand the
Alternative minimum tax. on the page R-39 2012 version,
"MIND" is your ACE, I don't know what kind the situation I
should add them back or subtract them.. If anybody knows
this, can you kindly to explain to me???
