Hello, I'm reviewing the part that talks about Electronic Acces on B4-44.  It says password should be of a minimum length to make guessing harder.  This statement just  doesn't make sense to me. Can you explain that please?  Isn't that the longer the password the harder to crack, though?

Thank you all very much.

You're confusing "minimum" with "minimal".

Minimal length would be something short or small.  A password that is 7 characters long or shorter is of "minimal" length; it is below the recommended minimum of 8 characters.  Passwords should never be of minimal length, because that would be too easy for a password-cracking program to discover.

Minimum length would be the lowest length or size of something, that is, the bottom limit or the lowest acceptable amount.  A password should be, at a minimum, 8 characters long.  It should be at least 8 characters long, however a longer password is better.

Thanks, Nan.  It really clears things up.  You even gave  me two examples on this.  Now I'm little embarrased for mistaking minimum for minimal.

You're welcome.

I don't really know anything about you.  I just made the assumption that English was not your native language, and this was a natural mistake.

I have a lot of admiration for anyone who has the initiative to earn a certification like this, in a non-native language.  I couldn't imagine trying to get an advanced degree and professional certification in a different language.
