Hello all. I wanted to get an idea of how much time should
be allotted for each section of the BEC Exam (3 MC testlets
and 3 Written Communications). If you could provide any
input from your personal experience or the experiences of
others, that would be great. Also, has anyone had issues
with time management on BEC (e.g. - feeling rushed or ran
out of time)? Thanks in advance.

If you allow 30 minutes per testlet, that allows 90 minutes for the 3 WCs.  If you allow 40 minutes per testlet, that allows 60 minutes for the WCs.  I figure 20-30 minutes per WC should be enough, so my gameplan is to be between 30 and 40 minutes per testlet to allow enough time to complete the WCs.

Thanks Puckhead. I was considering that range as well.

Quick question on your schedule. I noticed that you give yourself
about three months in between each exam. Do you give yourself that
much time to prepare for each section? Your scores are outstanding
either way. Thank you.

I left an hour for the WC and left 20 min early. After
seeing my score, I wish I had spent more time on the MCQ,
cause I know I did pretty well on the WC. I really thought
I had done better than my score, so I'm thinking I probably
missed the concept questions that are difficult, like IT
and Economics. Those were never my strong suit.

Yeah, I take one test per quarter.  I work full time (and then some!), and am married with kids.  I'm lucky to have 60-90 minutes per day during the week, and I don't like to spend more than a couple hours per day on weekends so I can spend some time with my family.  So one exam per quarter is all I have time for.
