Hi,

Have any of you taken the GMAT after the CPA? Did you find it easier to study for after the CPA? How long did you study for, to get a good score? I need about 550 and am not sure how long will take me to study. I am thinking a couple of weeks of app 2 hrs/day. I am trying to squeeze it in before I start restudying for BEC and REG. Thanks for any advice.

Well, I think the question that you need to ask is what are you planning on doing in the near future?

Are you applying to Graduate School?  Do you know when deadlines for applications are?  Do you plan on going back to school even if you dont' pass all sections of the CPA exam?

Studying for it wasn't that much different for me than any section I have currently taken for the exam...just work MPQ...the material is nothing more than high school level material.

My suggestion would be to finish the CPA as that would also give you an edge in applying to Graduate Schools, then take GMAT and apply.  THough it's a personal opinion.

Thanks for your reply...Yes, I want to apply at a local U in their MST program. I have already finished 9 cr hrs and they want a GMAT in order to be formally accepted into the program, otherwise they would consider me non degree seeking. I have 7 more courses to go and want to be done in a year. The deadline is June 1. I thought I might be able to get the gmat in before I return to the cpa. Would you think 2-3 weeks would be enough to study for gmat?
