I just got my FAR score - 72.  I studied 200 hours and don't know how to tackle this subject.  I used Becker and thought the questions on the MC were off compared to the exam.  To be honest, I think I knew the tough stuff better than the easy questions (I knew antiderivatives, bonds, yada, yada).  I died during the Sims and I think that's where I lost my 3 points.

can anyone advise what might be a better MC than Becker?  Or a better way to study for this exam?  Also, I am supposed to take Bus 4/30, but may move that to 4/15-ish and try to take FAR by 5/31 so that I don't need to try and learn a new chapter.  Let me know if anyone thinks one month is OK for Bus and 6 weeks (additional) for FAR.

Otherwise, watch the evening news for woman throws self off bridge b/c of not passing grade.

Thanks for the help

I would be taking FAR on May. Based on your info, I would allocate 2 months review for this subject? Or even longer?

Becker is quite self sufficient if you have understood the concepts well.. Practice your sims day in and day out so you get a good hold on them.

You may go for practicing some different MCQs. This way it would be a better approach to review. If you keep dping Becker MCQs, it would be more of memorizing than practicing....

Supplement your final review with "Gleim Test Prep"... It contains more than 1800 MCQs and u can always practice them out in random order.. u can go thru the following link:

http://www.gleim.com/products/productdetails.php?proID=6889

Don't get disheartened !! You might have heard the quote

"Try, try and try until you succeed". Never give up your hopes. A person who has tasted failure know the real meaning of success.

Can't really tell about how much time to devote to BEC as I still have to start with it.... For FAR - 4-6 weeks is more than sufficient time for final review !

lol! I got a 70 on BEC also and knew the concepts, this is what I found out. when you get a score in the 70's you know the material but: but again, there were some areas tested during that window you was not as strong in.

Whats important is not to spend another month restudying not effective.  Instead spend time reading ove the outline of every chapter and rewriting from memory.  Once you are comfortable doing this, you can rest assure concepts are nailed.  I did it this way for FAR and I cram it that way for audit. I didn't do it that way for BEC because BEC is all over the place not focus point.

FAR did earned the a.k.a monters of out coincidence, its a monster indeed, to kill a monster you got to get into its head.

You can also try using the BISK Intensive DVD.  I used this along with to study for the FAR.  Robert Monette is excellent.  I had only 3 weeks to study before my NTS expire.  Unfortunately, I did not pass.  Considering studying for only 3 weeks,  I came out with a 70.  If I had more time, I know I would have conquered this part.

Rescheduled for April with a much longer time to study and it is killing me.
