What is your best advice to do well on the written communication and get the maximum number of points? I sat for the test more than once, and I always came weaker than the average passing grade in the writing section. Please advise.

Thank you.

In the Roger Phillip review program he says that the written communications are machine graded.  They just check for grammar and key words.  After passing Reg, I'm convinced this is true!  I didn't know the answer to either of the written communications, but I used the research tab to find some tax codes that might be related to the topic.  I threw in some of those, re-stated the question a few times, and that was it.

How much do you usually write for the written part? You could be writing too much or too little.  Do you try to explain the answer in your own words? You might be better off copying and pasting a majority of your answer off of something out of the research tab.

Accountingnerd, how did you do in the written communication portions of reg?  Did you come out stronger?  This is very useful information, thank you!  Becker doesnt really go over this.

I'm not sure how I did, because when you pass they don't give you a score sheet.  I wish they did.  But, they must have given me lots of points for the written communication, because I felt like I was guessing my way through the whole exam. :-/

AccountingNerd8, thank you for the insight. I am still really afraid of the written part. The idea of machine grading maybe a good idea granted the candidate researches well and gets to write the correct key words. How did you copy and paste? and how did you restate the question to blend all that into something that made sense of an answer?

Thank you.
