Hi

I have started with FAR for past few days but nothing seems
to be going into my head, i finish a chapter and feel like
i know nothing. how much time do u guys think i need for
FAR.

please reply, i really need some positive thoughts to boost
my confidence guys...

I only used Wiley book, and felt the same, anything I went
over seemed to disappear, as I was putting more stuff in my
head. Key: go over the material over and over, as much as
you can (I went through book twice, plus final review). I
still felt like it was impossible to remember everything...
It's just too much. It took me overall like 3-4 months, and
I do work full-time, so weeknights 1-3 hours, weekends
maybe a bit more. Hope this helps. It's the most difficult
part IMO.

thanks for ur reply vaskula, FAR surely is the tough one to
clear. It would really be helpful to me if u could plz tell
me which chapters do u feel r tough..so that i can start
with them.

Im studying for FAR now. I started around the 5th or 6th of this month. I'm using Bisk and it's broken out into 20 chapters...their recommended time is about 7 weeks plus 1 for review I believe...but it really depends on the individual. Im on chapter 10 now so Im almost halfway done, but I feel the same way as you do as far as retaining the information. IT'S SO MUCH MATERIAL!! I'm trying to read or at least skim the chapter, listen to the lectures which requires taking notes, and answer between 80 and 100 questions per chapter. I almost think reading the chapter is a waste of time for me because the text is hard to read and I barely remember what I read. Just keep your head up and stay focused! When I get too frustrated I have to close my book before screaming lol.

I'm started to study for FAR last week. I'm also studying for AUD and taking a class (BUL II) as well. I work full-time. Plan to take the exam early next year.

So far, FAR has not been an issue, but this week I will start with the balance sheet and all that.

In my opinion from what I personally do to study is-read a section every day and skim through the chapters you have already covered since that will help you refresh past info. Do the mc questions over and over until you can go back to them and figure out the answer on your own and be able to tell why it's the answer. When you're done with the whole thing, skim through all the material for about 30 minutes..It has worked in the past for me-and hoepfully it will work again. I'm putting about 20 hours a week with 6-7 months left (that's about 600 hrs of my life). We Will Pass!!!!!!!!lol
