I am wondering what the best way to go about studying for retaking FAR. I got my grade back on Saturday (thanks for starting the weekend right, Texas) and got a 71 on FAR. I studied almost 200 hours for the exam this time and honestly feel completely discouraged. I passed two sections the first try but haven't been able to pass a section after failing. So I don't know the best way to go about restudying.
I passed (75%-80%) on the multiple choice section and failed on the SIMS. When I studied I think I spent to much time on doing multiple choice problems and not enough time understanding the journal entries/concepts behind the multiple choice. I thought by doing the MCQ I would get the concepts down.
What is the best way to get the concepts down?
Should I focus only on concepts and not do many multiple choice questions?
When should I reschedule the exam? As soon as the window opens?
Has anyone had any success with something other than Becker for learning the concepts?
For me, the best way to get the concepts down is to read the chapters in the
book at least twice and try to connect between these chapters. When you do
the MCQ, try to relate to the text..you may have to flip through the pages in
the book for reinforcement when you do the questions.
You can do it!! Don't give up!!!
