I am a new member to this forum & I need some help from all you experienced people on this forum.

Recently I have passed all four parts of the Uniform CPA examination from the Colorado Board but since I reside in Florida,I am planning to pursue my licensure from the State of Florida.Since I am an international candidate(India),I have done an evaluation of my educational transcripts from Joseph Silny & Associates & they have given me 199 credits. Will these credits fulfill Florida Board's licensure requirements?Further ,if I cannot complete the 1 year work experience requirement after applying for the license, will i loose my CPA exam passing grades?I am also confused as to whether I have to apply under the new educational requirements or the old one.

Please anyone help me on this.

Thank You.

Your best option is to contact FL Board of Accountancy. Without details, no one can give you any suggestion whether you meet FL requirement. Alternatively, go to FL BOA website, download their requirement and check whether you have required education and experience.

FL require candidates to apply for licensure within 1 year of passing the exam. Otherwise, grades expire. Your best option would be get CO license and apply for FL license (endorsement) once you have required experience and education. This way you don't risk loosing exam grade for FL purpose. This is unique for FL. I havn't seen anyother state have the provision of expiring exam grade.

It appears the cleanest way to transfer among states now is to have 150hrs/1-yr experience and the license in hand from your state that you sat for the exam. I recently checked into transfering my license from Calif to Tenn, and w/o 150 hrs, they wanted FOUR years experience, but with 150hrs, my license transfers without conditions. Five years ago, I asked NASBA to review my transcripts for licensure in Tenn, and they said I needed 11 more hours of Acctg, whereas the Calif board approved all of my courses.
