Does anyone know of a state that does not require experience verified by a CPA?  I'm taking the exam late in life and I am currently a VP of Finance (potentially the CFO soon).  The current CFO, my supervisor, let his CPA lapse.  I have over 10 years of accounting experience.

I'm in GA and I'm wondering if I pass the exams in GA can I apply for licensure in a state that does not have the CPA work experience verification requirement.

Try Arizona or Illinois.  I believe you don't need a CPA to verify your experience in these states.  However, you may need the 150 education credits.

Thanks.  I got my MBA 10 years ago so I'm fine there.  I will follow the links.

Washington state requires experience to be verified by a CPA who need not have been your employer and you can pay him for this certification. It is well explained on their web site.

Thanks,

After further research Ohio and Indianna looked like good options for the same reason. Although, in Ohio you need to be a resident.  Not sure about Indianna yet.

The controller that works for me is a CPA so I can have her verify my experience.

Thanks again.
