Hi - If I interned at a public accounting firm one summer before my senior year in college, can those 2-3 months count towards my CPA experience requirement? (NY)

I've looked at many "CPA experience" sections for different states....none
state "internships not acceptable".....

I have 1 year experience in public accounting as an intern. Does this
count toward experience for licensure in VA??

Probably best to search your state's board of accountancy website. I know Washington's says that experience can be paid or unpaid, so I'd assume volunteer work and/or internships would work here at least.

In Florida, your experience cannot begin before you have met the requirements to sit for the exam. If you didn't have 120 hours, it may not count. Check with your state.
