I reside in Florida and I plan on starting on my MAcc in the spring. I need 12 more accounting credits to sit for the exam and 24 to get licensed.
I'm in kind of a unique situation. I've been working part-time in a non-accounting role for a small company (about 500 employees) for the last couple of years. This company doesn't offer any service that's related to accounting, but they do employ some accountants obviously.
I know the CEO of my company personally and he's actually a licensed CPA in a different state (Georgia). When he found out that I was pursuing a MAcc, he offered me a position as a staff accountant. A few guys in the company are CPAs. Assuming that they sign off for me after I complete the exams, would this actually satisfy the work experience requirements even though it's not an accounting firm?

Hey, I had a similar question. My boss is FL licensed CPA, although we do healthcare consulting (does that qualify as "industry", as mentioned in the rules?)... I do internal accounting.
