Hi guys, does anyone know how long it takes to get your license number and the certificate in New York State? I am beginning to get a little worried because I sent in my experience requirements the week of September 7th, and as of October 10th, I have not heard anything. I also tried searching my name on the New York CPA database and found nothing.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to hear back from these guys? Should I call or e-mail them?

Thanks,

Done.

I would shoot your board an email.  I took ethics and got my boss to sign off on my experience immediately after learning I passed my last part.  I paid my fees as well.  I shot my board and email, and they told me it takes 3 weeks to process everything.  What's a little MORE waiting after all?

I'm in VA though.

Is there any difference, if I don't work anymore for the firm where I got my experience? Can I still have them sign off on my experience without waiting for the official congratulatory letter from NASBA?

I am waiting already a few weeks for the congratulatory letter after I passed my last part.

You don't have to wait for anything to get started on the other parts necessary for licensure.  Just look up what the board requires, and knock them off.  The board will likely help you out.  As for the experience, they are required under various ethical and board responsibilities to sign off on your experience.

The congratulatory letter is mainly for the fridge and/or people who can get reimbursement once they've completed the exam.

Thank you, that's the answer I was looking for.
