Hi,

I am yet to get my CPA license. I have been thinking of
starting the process under 2.5rule from the CO Board. But
even if I get my license , is it going to be of any use if
I am planning to go back to India.

I mean will it make any difference if I work from there?
Please help.
thanks
Sanjana

Sanjana, there is no point in getting the license if you are going back to India. If you are not going to practice but work for a corporate/Big 4 then you might as well save yourself the money of being licensed, etc.

I used to work in India and no one worries about being licensed there. Just the certificate should be proof enough that you passed.

Good luck!

Thanks pschogenesis. But as per the CO Board, we don't even
get the certificate till the work experience is satisfied.
So I just have a congragulatory letter now. Do you think it
is enough to get a job in India? Now will that make any
difference.
Thanks again.

Yep! Just that letter should help you! I dont think anyone will ask for proof that you passed the CPA when you interview with the company...HR would need to have that document for their documentation purposes. Most companies would know that not everyone will want to get certified cause it makes no sense if one is working in India. Just ensure you mention you are done with the CPA in your Resume and ensure you have copies of the congratulatory letter...you will be fine and hopefully can earn big bucks!! :-)

Good luck!!
