Hi,

I just started my CPA preparation and I am going to give my first exam (BEC) in Feb. I want to start the internship process for CPA licencing. My question is, is it too early for me to start the experience and if I do, will it be counted?

Secondly, if I volunteer at a CPA firm (since my visa status (H4) does not allow me to work), will the experience be considered? And are CPA firms allowed to take volunteers for training?

Unfortunately, on H4, you can not do volunteering at for profit company. It is basically considered a job. Volunteering can be done at Church, Library etc. However, with that said, I have seen people doing this.

I would still take another opinion of expert.
