Hi!  I have currently passed 3/4 CPA tests, and am taking my AUD on Monday (8/23).  My REG credit expires in November.  Do I have to have the ethics passed by the time that my credit expires or are they separate?  (lol the main reason I ask *just in case* I don't get AUD done this time and have to take it in October, that might be making it close if you get what I mean).  Thanks for your time!

I am not 100% sure.  The ethics exam varies from state to state.  My recommendation would be to take it once you are finished with AUD on the 23rd.  I just took the ethics exam today, it took me 3 hours and I was watching tv, emailing at the same time.  There is no time limit.  Like I said earlier this can vary as I heard California has a different ethics exam.  I ordered the CD-rom version from the AICPA, took 3-4 days to get here.  I would recommend ordering it now, that way its here next week and you can get it done.

Don't make the mistake I did and start watching the CD, its painful.  Just log into the test, then search through the index depending on what the exam question asks for.

Hope that gives you some insight.

Hey Canadian, thanks for the info!  I actually just got the CD today, will probably take it mid week after my AUD test.  I am in Colorado, and not too sure where to look to see if I need to pass all 4 before I can take it, I think I remember seeing somewhere that some states require that.  Also, thanks for the tip on watching the CD.

Hi Guys, for the people who have passed this exam...would you say that you had to read the material to pass it?  Or could you just start doing the questions and just search for the answer without reading the book cover to cover?

chattykatt43,

I just posted a response to one of your other comments.

Get the CD, not the book.  Start the questions as there is no time limit for the exam, then search through the index from the CD to find the answers.  Honestly its super easy.
