Hey all,

I need 30 more credits to fulfill my 150 credit requirement in NJ and was wondering if anyone has taken the free FEMA classes and transferred them to Frederick Community College. I have seen this suggestion, but I wanted to know if there was anyone out there who has actually done it. FCC converts these courses into college credit for about $76 a credit, so I don't want to throw my money away if it doesn't work. FCC is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, so it seems like this method would work. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Check with your state board. Unless anyone here from NJ has actually done it, the best anyone can say is "maybe."

Great idea though. I'd definitely e-mail or call your state board (e-mail might be better because it is in writing). Just ask if they will accept credits from Frederick Community College and give them any info about the college they request.

Since it is accredited, I don't see why there would be a problem, but you should definitely get something in writing from the state board before you go and spend the money.
