I live in California, is CalCPA &/or AICPA Membership required if you are
CPA?

I don't believe so...but can't say for sure.
However, I would highly recommend the AICPA as the affordable life insurance alone can make the membership worthwile.
Also, CALCPA does have a nice tool for keeping track of CPE.

I know it's not required for NC but it is STRONGLY encouraged. Why wouldn't you want to belong to at least the AICPA. I enjoy networking with other people in my field.
