I just passed CPA exam and want to look into getting my CFE, does anyone have any adive on steps I should take to go about this??

I found this website that has the stduy guides

http://www.amazon.com/Fraud-Examiners-Manual-Association-Cer tified/dp/1889277118/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

What about the acfe website and their materials??

and if anyone has an email I would like to ask them about this in more depth rather than on forum?

I'm going through the test prep right now and am just about ready to start the actual exams. I am using the materials purchased through the ACFE website. The software is very useful. The books that come with the package deal are also pretty good and have helped prepare me for the tests. I'd say just go to the official website for more information as that is really the source of the test. Also, if you have questions, just call them. I have talked with their customer service a number of times and they have always been quite helpful.

Would you say that the review materials purchased through
the websites are necessary or do you think the books only
would be sufficient? After shelling out the cash for
Becker's CPA materials I am running a bit low. :-(

I'm not quite sure what you are asking here. I mean,
which book? The review package comes with several books,
one of which is the "handbook" and also two volumes that
are comprehensive encyclopedias. There are a few other
things thrown in like the CD, but I didn't even use that
as it's just like a digital copy of the books. So I
suppose the real meat of your question is, what do you
need to really pass this sucker. I think you might be
able to get by with just the Corporate Fraud Handbook.
The problem is, it doesn't go into incredible detail and
you might have questions on the exam that are specific.
The handbook is awesome on concepts and getting a feel,
but it's only 400 pages long while the two volume manual
is HUGE. I will admit though, I very rarely had to even
touch the manual. If you've passed the CPA, you already
know half this stuff so just study the newer concepts.
Good luck!
