Hi,

I want to know whether there are essays in CPA exam? If there are, which section of CPA exam has the essays? FAR, AUD, BEC, REG, or all of them? Since i know CPA exam, so far, just covers multiple choice and simulation questions, except for BEC. Thanks.

AUD, REG, & FAR all have essay type questions. They are included in the simulations. They are considered memos to a client.

The essays are called "written communications", each simulation has multiple tabs, and one tab on each of the two simulations is a "written communication" scenario.  I've heard that the written communication part is worth 10 points, while the reference questions are worth 1 point.  So, make sure you leave yourself enough time to put a lot of good effort into your simulations!

Yes there are essays, it might be useful to check out your board of accountancy about the format.
