I live in Pennsylvania and am looking into the CPA exam. I'm curious about the education requirements. I know I need 150 of general credits and 24 credits of Accounting/Finance. I have over 150 credits, but I'm not sure if I have the right accounting/finance credits. How can I find out if I meet education requirements? Do I register for the exam and have them deny me or is there a different way?

Hi. Go to Google and put in Pennsylvania Board of Accountancy and you should find what you're looking for there.

Usually, your accounting courses have to be 3000+ level in order to count towards your CPA requirements but this depends on the state. And, 24 hours worth of accounting credits generally mean that you have majored in Accounting.

Thank you for your insight. I found the regulations section, but was unable to find anything in there that specifically discusses the education requirements.
