Nan-Louisiana,

Which review program did you use?

Becker.  Got the whole package - Self-study CD course, flashcards, and Final Review Course.

I barely had time to make notes on the preprinted flashcards, so making my own flashcards from scratch was out of the question.  Plus the preprinted cards were easier to read than my handwriting.

Got the Final Review course as an afterthought, but talked the Becker sales rep into selling it to me at the discounted price for "Buy it with your initial purchase".  (Those guys must work on commission.)  Snarled at the additional price for Final Review, but figured it was cheaper than a re-take, and certainly cost me less in time and agony.

Yeah, I know it was expensive.  I had to pay it out of my own pocket, but I had some help.

I too am using Becker but definitely need to change my studying habits since getting my failing score for Reg. I will adopt your attitude of do it right, get it over with. I have taken some of the pointers that you gave on studying away from home. So hopefully it will work this time around. I am going to do BEC for now and then study for Reg (again). And this time will be more dilligent than I was the last time. Thank you so much Nan-Louisiana for all the help.

Good luck.  You can do it.

To pass you really DO need to obsess over the exams, to the exclusion of everyone and everything else around you.  For the better part of the last year I have been just tossing everything else into a figurative "closet" and quickly shutting the door.  Out of sight, out of mind, back to studying.

The problem, of course, is trying to figure out what to do with yourself after the last exam is done.

I just opened that figurative "closet" door.  There are a few somethings living in there now, and they snarled at me.  Oh, oh....

Quick general question for those who got 74's on BEC.

1) Did you pass/fail the second time you took it
2) What did you do differently to get you over the edge?

Thanks

1) Passed

2) I studied everything again as if I had never studied it the first time. Eventhough I got my progress report back and knew my weakness was in Econ, I only gave Econ slighly more attention than everything else. I also made sure to take my time during the exam and not automatically assume I knew what the questions was asking me... as BEC can be a little tricky sometimes. I stuck with the same review course and went over the exact same material I did the first time around.
