First post on the forum, will appreciate any help!
I am a new college graduate in California with less than
a year of experience as a financial analyst, and I am
strongly considering pursuing the CPA. Naturally I
checked the requirements:
http://www.calcpa.org/Content/licensure/requirements.aspx
After reviewing the qualifications for the State of CA, I
still have some questions regarding the 24 semester units
(or in my case, 32 quarter units), of business-related
and accounting-related courses.
How do I know if the classes I've taken qualify for these
requirements? I have graduated with a BA from a reputable
school (over 225 quarter hours) with a degree in Business
Economics and a Management minor. My business classes
include marketing, business strategy, project management,
informations systems, etc. Additionally, I have 2
accounting classes (8 quarter units): a lower division
introductory financial accounting class, and upper div
managerial accounting taken through my economics
department.
Any insights? Also, any advice on online accounting
courses that will help me finish the qualification
requirement? Thanks.
