I was scheduled to take FAR a couple of weeks back, and had an issue with my son (who has some severe behavioral issues) on the day of the exam.  As a result he ended up refusing to go to school, and causing a lot of emotional grief for everyone in the house that day.

Because of this I ended up missing the exam time, and did not take it.  I was fairly certain that I was not going to pass anyway, so it was not the end of the world for me.  I assume that there would be no potential for a refund, and to be honest the money isn't the most critical point to me - I just want to get through these exams.

However, now I am unsure if I can simply reschedule or do I have to wait until the scores are posted.  The NASBA re-registration page states the following:

Candidates are advised that automatic delay or rejection of registration is a result of the following;

  • Non-receipt of all required fees (current and prior);
  • Failure to complete all educational requirements;
  • Registration of examination section(s) prior to receipt of scores;
  • Registration of unattended examination section of a current NTS prior to expiration of the NTS.

Any advice?

That sounds terrible, I don't know if all Prometric sites are like this but the one near me always takes me early if I show up early and takes me late if I show up late. I've only been early or late by an hour or 2. It sounds like there was no way you could get in there even an hour late from your post so that is just money down the drain I guess. As for rescheduling, I would just re-register now, I don't see why they would reject it, since you didn't take the exam and there is nothing to score. It might be delayed a bit though till prometric can let your board know that you didn't take the exam. Maybe next time have a potential babysitter on standby for test day just incase something

i think you fall under the 4th category "Registration of unattended examination section of a current NTS prior to expiration of the NTS". I would suggest you call nasba and talk to a representative so they can guide you the best.
