I passed FAR with an 85 on my first attempt, I'm still in
shock!

With all of the people on this forum who've passed all
four parts, I hardly feel qualified to give advice but I
would like to share this:

I was supposed to spend roughly 30 hours after my first
pass through the material and review the heavily tested
areas. However, after 2 to 3 hours per day for nearly two
months, and the added responsibility of training for a
marathon (roughly 30-45 miles per week), I was pooped. My
30 hours turned into 3 hours at the most.

I finally realized that for years--ever since I started
back to college--I was over stressed. I started taking
more time to relax and this really helped me.

I borrowed a few relaxation/new age CDs from the library
and played this one with "delta waves." I'm not sure what
that means, but it's associated with sleep and deep
relaxation.

I played it in the days prior to the exam and on the car
ride to the testing center. I was TOTALLY calm during the
exam. I believe this made all the difference. I encourage
you to try it.

I completely agree with the stressed part.  I was at the doctor's office getting my blood pressure done, and once I started talking about the exam, my blood pressure reading went through the roof, and we had to restart.

For me, what is helping is to accept that studying/testing conditions will NEVER be ideal.  We will never again have that relatively idyllic scenario of college (undergrad life) with plenty of time to study and still enjoy life.  And it's not worth bemoaning those days, which are long gone.

Instead, I see now that it's possible to defeat this beast of an exam *in spite of* all adverse conditions.  You can have a severe family emergency, only get two hours of sleep the night before, have your boss calling you as you're about to walk into the Prometric center... and STILL pass that test.  Transcend everything else and simply TAKE THE TEST.  There are no excuses.  For every challenge you think you are facing in your life ("justifications" for postponing or not passing the CPA exam), there are many stories here on CPAnet from people who have it much worse.  So don't even give yourself any excuses.

The above mental approach worked for me to conquer FAR and AUD.  NO EXCUSES.  No life explanations.  Just take the tests and pass them.

The Delta Waves sounded like a good idea.  In the past, I tried to cut music out of my life for the last couple of days before the exam, because I didn't want to get a song stuck in my head during the exam, and waste precious exam time.  But would you say that a relaxing CD like that wouldn't have that risk?

No, you won't have that problem. I'm amazed at how much
relaxation music has helped me through this period in my
life.

You can even get some subliminal audios to help with
learning/focusing. Kelly Howell has a lot of great albums.

Subliminal audios may be total bs, I'm not sure. I have
one for weight loss and it does seem to help, but that
could be a placebo effect.
