Most people refer to the career path of people in Audit, I was wondering what are the different career paths in Tax starting at a Big 4 firm in the banking group in NYC other than making partner?

I can't speak to NYC specifically, but I work at a big 4 in tax with mostly
financial clients and most people that have been leaving recently have been
going to either investment partnerships or REITs that were/are clients.
