I am interested in two big 4 specialty group areas: (1)
forensic accounting for criminal or more likely civil
cases and (2) structured finance. I am years off from
executing and have an additional constraint of not being
fully mobile. Is there any exhaustive way I can
determine if a location e.g. Buffalo, Pittsburg or
Baltimore have offices that do (1) forensic accounting
for criminal or more likely civil cases and (2)
structured finance? Is there some way you can tell by
looking at the firm’s homepage?

Not sure about the structured finance, but I will tell you what I thinkg about the forensic accounting bit.  You are definitely going to have to be very very mobile as I was told you have to go where the fruad is.  I got the chance to speak with a guy that worked in the Forensic/Fraud investigations practice in a Big 4.  I was really interested in working in that field (and I still), but the travelling was horrendous - worse than the travel of an external auditor!

As for their website, I personally did not get that inofrmation from the websites.  I think your best bet would be to contact someone in the office by email or by phone and just ask whether their offices have the practices.  Good luck!
