First of all congratulations on getting an offer! Just curious though, are you coming in as a campus recruit or as experienced? A lot of my friends are going through recruiting and they are just about to start 2nd round interviews.

All the big4 firms do a background check.  It will be pretty lengthy including stuff like references, job and education history, and of course your criminal/civil records.

They hire a 3rd party to do the background check. They will find out about it. Disclosing it will give you better footing since you can tell them your side first rather than explaining later why you didn't put it in your application.

Thanks Bridge!  I am coming in as a campus recruit.

Do you think that my record is enough for them to rescind my offer?

Does anyone else have any input on this?

Thanks again.

Hard to tell without knowing all the facts. Maybe you can ask your HR contact but not in such a direct way? Like "Hypothetically speaking, how does the firm with this kind of record?"

Not wanting to put a damper but If KPMG thinks your record is grave enough for them to rescind, then most likely the other big4 would also act similarly.

Personally I would disclose this upfront...The question regarding whether KPMG might revoke the offer is whether the law violation is compromises your ethics.

What was the law violation?

Cheers.
