for experienced hires...what is the best way to contact the
recruiter in the local area?
I am done with school for almost three years and am
currently working, so it might be difficult for me to go to
the recruiting events. If I submit my resume through the
Big 4' websites, the chances of the resume being reviewed
are probably very slim. Is there a good way to get noticed
besides the on-campus events? Any insights you could share
would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Join your local CPA society. Maybe you can meet some Big 4 people that way.

I am in the same boat.
I started by contacting my old professors who I knew liked me because I did extremely well in their class. I emailed a "hello how are you", and attached my resume "just in case you hear of anything". Next, I started attending meetings for my profession, and CPA societies (like the American Society of Women Accountants - the local chapter holds an open meeting every month). I also looked on Facebook and Linkedin and tried to re-connect with college friends who work at CPA firms.
I am still in the process, but by doing the above I have an upcoming "office tour" with E&Y. Networking is key.
Good luck to you!
