So here's the deal. I want to eventually work in business valuation at a Big 4 or consulting firm. I'm currently getting my MAcc and have a Big 4 audit internship coming up in Spring.
So theoretically, if all goes well I might get an offer in Audit after graduation. But my real interest is M&A/Business Valuation work. So much so that I will be taking the CVA (Certified Valuation Analyst) examination and the CFA exams (level 1) before graduation to get some good background/skills for the career. Oh yah, the CPA exams would be done after graduation and before starting work.
My questions are:
1.) If offered an audit job, would I be an a$5 if I ask if there are any Transaction Services openings for first year staff instead of accepting the audit job right away?
2.) Is the transition from Audit to BV at a big 4 doable with proper qualifications? Or is BV experience absolutely needed?
Thanks in advance guys.
