Obviously there is a decent amount of talk on here on industry preferences
and paths, especially with new hires, but in regards to what team you want
to be a part of, can requests be made for that as well? For instance, Deloitte
audit in Chicago has the Bulls, White Sox, Cubs and maybe Bears? on their
client list but I am unaware of what industry they are even considered to
be...that is just one example but does anyone know or have experience with
trying to get on a certain client they either may be interested in or have
some kind of desire to have a future position with that
company/organization/etc?

You can certainly mention that you would like to be on those accounts, but as far as being a new staff you don't have much say, you go where the "resources" are needed.  At the end of the day you are there to get the work done.  The only thing I can suggest is that you start or request to work on whatever industry those clients are considered, then as you move up the need might be there for you to step in on that team if you weren't on it originally.
