I was recently offered an accounting position at a national small/mid-sized public accounting firm. I am planning on going back to get my Macc in the next year, but I was wondering whether or not the full-time employment (which will probably end up being less than a year) would affect my OCR opportunities with the Big 4. Will the Big 4 look down on me being previously employed by a public accounting firm, considering that most entry-level individuals come straight from college without any full-time work experience?
Some background information:
My goal is to be recruited from a Big 4, which is why I would like to enroll in a Macc program and go through OCR. I missed OCR while I was in undergrad (graduated last Spring). I am not considering the experienced hire route for a Big 4 opportunity because I believe that the Macc will be beneficial in preparing me for the CPA exams in addition to the recruiting opportunities.

It's a tough decision but I would say it would not hurt
you. I would say the shorter the time you spend the better,
but I wouldn't expect to get credit for it as an
experienced hire (as you are aware).
Also keep in mind that if you don't get big 4 right out of
the gate, and are able to get a job with a mid-market firm,
it's not impossible to switch to a big 4. It's obviously
easier to switch down from big 4 to MM but I have met
plenty of big 4 seniors who came in from MM firms. Small
and more regional firms start to have less appeal than
larger MM (Mcgladrey, BDO ect) but still do-able.

Thanks WSPcpa! Good to know. I actually have an internship offer from another small/mid-sized CPA firm. Would that be better than taking the full-time offer?

If you are worried, you can always omit this experience from your resume.
