OK...I am learning the BASIC concepts of accounting ( studied 10+ yrs ago) and starting to study for FAR which I hope to take later in the year.....can i JUST focus on one exam for now, or do i hv to atleast begin studying for the second part eg. AUD?

more importantly, does it make HUGE financial difference ( in terms of fee etc. ) to take the 4  exams closer together; i see a lot of people take exams within 1-2 months of each other; i think that's not even doable for an accounting newbie like me..

...any input greatly appreciated as always...............

I think it's better to only study for one exam at the time.  Most of us space our exams 6-7 weeks apart so that we can test twice in 1 window.

The biggest concern in spreading exams out further is the 18 month expiration on each exam.  Those 18 months come quick if you're struggling with a specific section.

The financial difference isn't huge in regards to spreading out your exams.  I know in the state of Alabama there is a $50 re-application fee every time you submit an application.  You save money in regards to the app fee by scheduling more than 1 at a time.

Another plus of taking exams closer together is you'll retain more material and surprise yourself in your studying.  It's a good feeling.

If you have a better preparation for this then no need to worry about this.Just go and give and about the second part i suggest you to have a little bit knowledge about extra thing is good so you have to know the basics of that.
