I am about to start working fulltime and I wanted to find out what the average salary for a May 2008 Accounting grad in Illinois is. I have done two internships, and have been working part-time at the firm I plan to go full time with in Decemeber. I have been finishing up my 150 hrs that is why I've been working part time. I will start studying for the CPA in Dec. Also, this is a small-medium sized CPA firm. I currently am recieving $20/hr, the same rate I had as an full-time intern in the Spring of 08. What is a comparable raise/salary when I move to full time. I don't want to be underpaid. Thanks.

Yea. I am a staff tax accountant working part-time right now. That is the same rate I had when I interned in the Spring of 08'. My contract says that I will get market rate Dec 1, 2008 when I begin fulltime. I just don't know what market rate is.

I am working as a Bookkeeper/Accountant at a small firm and they pay me 15/hr . I have one more section (REG) to take . I am trying for a staff accountant position (hopefully full time) . Do u think this part time job will give me the necessary experience for staff accountant job . I went for a staff accountant interview in the past and they said they were looking for a person with experience in AR / AP.

In this job I do AP/AR using QuickBOOKS . I am the only accountant here so I do everything . This is a small firm .

In future when I go for an interview , when asked to tell about my job experience ----what words can I use to explain - I am not an U.S citizen so I feel I might not use the right words.

And oh yeah the staff accountant position that I did not get that was - 48 K - 1 year experience needed .
