I have been contemplating for quite sometime now if I should attend one of these YEP Conferences organized by the CalCPA. I am done with all my CPA exams last Nov.08, but not lucky yet with even a temp job. The major reason being, I have ZERO experience in this area. I did my Bachelors in Accounting, CPA and in the meantime worked in the Marketing dept, online marketing etc.

So coming back to my qs. will I be out of place attending one of these conferences? Will it really serve the purpose of networking for someone like me with no job,clueless about how to converse in these meetings, etc. etc. Please give me your feedback/suggestions. My sole reason is to try get some contacts to be able to apply for jobs.

Whatever you can do to network and be able to get a job is a goood idea.
