Here's my situation.

I passed cpa exam while working full time at cpa office gettting $10/ hr. I want to get a better paid job but i don't have college degree.  I look through job site on internet and it seems impossible to get a decent job without degree even though i passed exam.

so i want to get a online degree. i'm thinking University of Phonix.

Does this online degree count when i get a job?

Colleges have career services departments. They are responsible for
organizing Career Fairs where potential employers meet the students. That's
one of the main benefits of attending college. As far as I know online
institutions do not provide such services. Ideally, you should go to a school
that has a strong accounting program and attracts a lot of accounting firms
to its career events. In the current economy online degree will not take you
very far. Of course that's only my opinion.

yeah, I saw that as well. I thought some of the states must be really
desperate for additional revenue from fees and they let anyone sit for the
CPA exam. Not likely.

Rain you should clarify that an online degree from
university of phoenix will not take you very far....

If you were to get a MBA from Umass Amherst rated #5 for
professors in the country, and rated in the top 20 in the
country for online MBA's.... I'm pretty sure that would
get you where you wanted to go regardless of the manner
in which you earned the degree...... same goes for any
other AACSB Business School that offers an online
degree.... there is no difference in the name of the
degree or your transcript..... Bentley... one of the top
AACSB accounting schools in the country offers an online
accounting program.... There are some excellent programs
out there that are part of a brick and mortar
institution, those are the ones that are worth the money
and the effort.
