Can anyone share thoughts how hard is it for a state school student to get into Big 4 Forensic service? There is an ad for this position and I am wondering if this type of job requires someone from a top school or it doesn't matter to them. Is it something very sophisticated or close to audit and good personality is the key? I need a realistic prospective so as not to waste time on the interview.

I think they may prefer you to have audit experience first, at least one year. A typical prereq for forensic accounting is audit.

It seems odd, but they are looking for those who are just graduating, so obviously they expect you to have no audit experience. Which is why I wonder if they need someone supposedly brilliant from a top 10 school

Uh, forensic accounting does not necessarily require someone to be "brilliant". It is helpful to be familiar with fraud schemes though(i.e. kiting, skimming, etc). Many schools these days have fraud classes which I took and that may be what that employer would like to see.
