For those of you who work in private industry, how many hours in general do you work? I keep reading all of these posts about long hours in private industry. Is my job that unusual with a 40 hour work week? My company is not public, so that does cut down on work some without having SOX compliance and SEC filings.

That's strange - the general theme seems to be long hours in public accounting, while much less hours in private industry. Can you link to some of these posts where people work long hours in industry?

Look at posts from the last week. Txag had one asking for advice and
another peron was asking about accounting ph.ds. Both talked about
long hours in industry.
