So my current job is shaky to say the least and besides I don't
particularly care for what I do (sox, compliance, operational audit,
etc..) so I am looking elsewhere for new opportunities. I interviewed
for and just received an offer for a sr. Transaction advisory services
position with a regional firm. The offer is strong and met my
expectations in all categories. While I think the work itself will be
much more interesting and valuable as a skill, there are a few
drawbacks. The job is 3 hours away and I would have to move. I
really like where I live and plus i have a family so its not that easy to
just pick up and move. The other is travel. The job would require a
fair deal of travel which I am kind of split on at this point. If I was
single and didn't have a family it would be no problem but thats not
the case. Obviously I knew these things when I interviewed but they
are now big factors in my decision. I have some promising leads on
local opportunities but nothing concrete at the moment. Am I stupid
fog turning down a good opportunity in this economy? Any advice is
alleviated. Thanks in advance.

Is it worth it? Only you can decide that.
What was your decision?

You have to decide what is more important to you.
