Well...I have now passed all four sections of this crazy exam so on to the paperwork, right?

When I started this process over a year ago I had made contacts with the team leader in Internal Control of my company.  He is one of the only people I know at my location with their CPA (corporate accounting so it is not really needed).  Well I went to him today with my experience form to sign (which he said he could and would over a year ago)....

Well turns out that he has been "fudging" his information regarding his continuing education credits with his state and doesn't want to put his license number on my form for fear he will be caught...How Ethical Is That???

This puts me in the horrible situation in that no one else that I know of can sign this form, I am going to have to get another job to get around this situation (in this economy), and on top of that put in ANOTHER year of work before I will have this process complete!  I'm sooo depressed.  Please help if you have any input.

Now I see why Peter Orlinto teaches the Ethics sections for Becker and makes the comment that you cant trust a CPA to teach ethics. Is there someone else that you could talk to at your job that is a CPA? I am far from passing  but I will also have to work for a year because noone in my department has their CPA. It sucks that after all the hard work you put in and thinking you finally are on your way to getting your certificate you get the dissappointing news.

Well, well.  Interesting.  That puts an ethical delimma on YOU, and gives you a possible way out as well.

Since he's holding himself up as an active CPA - dishonestly - shouldn't you turn him in?  Soon?

However, if he takes prompt action to fix his situation, you wouldn't have much reason left to turn him in and he could sign your certificate with a clean conscience.
