Should I take a graduate-level course on this material, or is it okay to just study from Becker?

How about advanced accounting? Should I take the course or just do Becker?

If you had to choose between only taking one class out of those two, which would you choose? Which is more easy to learn on your own?

Thank you in advance

Aiman took an advanced accounting course and posted a link to his textbook's powerpoint slides. They seem very informative. Check it out and see if they help. http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/007337945x/student_vie w0/

If you have to take one of these to fulfill a requirement, I'd recommend the govt class. If you have a strong financial background, advanced is more of the same - focuses on business combinations primarily.

Govt is more obscure and might require some extra attention.

However, you don't need either of them to pass the test.

I used Becker alone and it was more than enough.  Remember that government/not for profit will at most be 20% of your exam (and I believe only in the MCQ).  Just listen to the lectures, read the chapter 2-3 times, and do all the MCQs in Becker 2-3 times.  I did this and was VERY thankful on exam day.
