I am sitting for the FARE section at the start of July and due to school started studying this week for the exam.  I am treating it like a job and doing 8 hours a day with more studying on the weekends.  I am using Becker and wanted to know if the video lectures are a waste of time or not?  I really don't know what I should focus the majority of my time on, reading the book, MC, sims????  Any suggestions or tips would greatly be appreciated.

Also, am I completely crazy in trying to take all 4 sections in one testing window?

I generally divided my study time almost equally between book/material and MCQs. Practicing 6-7 sims few days before the exams is not a bad idea. I wouldnt spend too much time on sims because no matter how much time you spend preparing for them they are mostly bizarre during the exams.  Its all about time management and banging your head against the test center's computer.

Taking all sections in one testing window depends on your previous background in accounting, experience and time commitment. Can you seriously study for 8 hours a day??? I usually doze off after 4-5 hours..

I just completed my Masters in May so a lot of the material is decently fresh in my head.  So far, I have been able to pump out 8 hour days.  I'm trying to master 3 lectures a week for FARE so that I will have a week or so to review it all before the exam.  Right now I am still extremely nervous that it won't be enough.

I actually like the Becker lectures.  That's actually the only time I ever look at the book.  I highlight the main points that Becker says to and then work out MCQ.  I'd do the MCQ a couple times.  I would do one or two sims for each test just so you know what to expect but they are of little value other than that.  Just my two cents.

I took a month off and studied for 5-8 hours a day (except weekends) and passed with an 83. Listened to all the lectures, did all the questions multiple times, and reviewed the book as i saw fit. I think you should be fine.

I feel like the lectures were extremely useful for FAR and made reviewing the book easier. However, as in all sections, reviewing questions is the key. Good luck!
