The numerous retail inventory valuations are driving me crazy with all the subtle differences. Did everyone know all of them when they took the exam? I am trying to decide if I should just learn the conventional and maybe FIFO and call it a day.

I learned the conventional and FIFO retail methods. They seemed overwhelming at first glance but I eventually got the hang of them. Also, you should learn dollar-value LIFO.
I skipped about 99% of the inventory methods in the Becker appendix.

I spent two days this weekend to study inventory cost flow methods. But when I did Becker HW in Passmaster, questions were not that bad actually. Definitely, you should know dollar value.
